Pumpehuset, Denmark 26/4 - 2000

The day after the release of the new album "State of flow" No Fun At All came to Copenhagen and Pumpehuset for a show with Liberator. Since Kjelle was injured earlier this year NFAA had a stand-in drummer and he did a great job. Even if NFAA doesn't play in Denmark often the crowd that came did their best. I was a bit confused before the concert, since they have changed style and slowed down a bit on the new album I didn't know if they were just going to play songs from the new album and leave the old stuff behind but I was wrong and I am glad I was. Why would they stop playing classic hits like Believers, Stranded and Should have known? Perhaps a stupid question but I think a lot of fans look for an answer.

After taken some beers with all other fans in the bar at Pumpehuset No Fun At All came on stage at 09.30p.m. NFAA started up with the great track from "State of flow" Celestial Q&A, and then everything just went on. First a new track and then back to old classic songs from No straight angles, Out of bounds and The big knockover and then another song from "State of flow". With this collection of songs you got more than you could ever want, both slow songs that made you shiver and perhaps a tear too and then fast punk songs that made you rock as hell! Normally a punk band just performs one sort of songs, just fast songs with the same tempo. But No Fun At All stands out in a crowd. They perform music from many categories. Not many bands got the skill to do that, and that's one reason why I am a fan of them. With just one day after the release of "State of flow" most of the crowd heard the new songs for the first time, (only I knew them by heart already), but anyway, I think they all got a good view what the new style is all about and it looked like they enjoyed it. After ending up with the song "Alcohol" Liberator came on scene and finished the evening like they use to do - great.

It may take a couple of months before the people have learned the new album, the style and the sound. I think most people will be satisfied with "State of flow". Hopefully the album will give the band new fans who like the new style and since they still play old stuff on the concerts they will keep their old fans too.
